Materials used in building houses are logs of spruce from Gorski Kotar (Picea abies) or logs of fir (Abies alba) with thick growth rings, which contribute to the quality and longevity of the construction itself.
The size of a log is based on the ideal diameter of 23 or 19 cm, which enables optimal relation between inside and outside temperature and humidity.
